See how commercial relationships are kept out of conclusions
Use this page when
You want to understand authorship, update standards, prohibited practices and how commercial relationships are disclosed.
Editorial control
Providers and commercial partners do not receive a right to approve factual conclusions or remove material limitations.
Language standard
Claims are scoped to products and entities, while unknown or contract-dependent terms remain explicit.
Update path
Material errors and outdated facts go through the correction process, with product scope and sources rechecked before the wording changes.
Judge an editorial page by
- Clear scope, date and material limitations
- Separation of evidence from inference
- Visible disclosures and a usable correction route
We use established payment-industry terms
Merchant account, acquirer, processor, payment gateway, payment facilitator, Merchant of Record, rolling reserve, settlement and chargeback each describe a different thing. We use those terms for the role or obligation they actually represent.
Internal field names, review stages and data-quality labels do not belong in a merchant-facing conclusion. The page should state the fee, product, restriction or unanswered contract term itself.
Facts and analysis stay distinguishable
A published fee, supported integration or named regulatory entity can be stated directly. A comparison or practical implication is analysis and should not be written as if it were a contract term.
When information conflicts or lacks the scope needed to answer the merchant's question, we describe the practical limit. We do not fill the gap with an assumption about approval, ownership of funds or responsibility for chargebacks.
Claims we do not make
We do not guarantee approval, rates, reserve release, settlement speed, legal compliance or availability in a country or industry. We also do not call a company safe, licensed everywhere or suitable for every high-risk industry. A single registration or a company-wide capability does not carry across every product, country and merchant.
Commercial relationships do not rewrite reviews
Any paid placement, lead referral or affiliate compensation must be identified where it can affect a user's decision. It cannot change factual product information, hide a material limitation or guarantee a position in a comparison.
Updates and corrections
A provider, merchant or reader may report an error. We review the exact product and statement involved, update the public page when warranted and do not require a commercial relationship to consider a correction.
